SLADE LONDON SIGHTSEEING DAY - 28 JUNE 2014
On 28 June 2014 a group of Slade fans took part in a "tour" around London visiting famous Slade and landmarks. A booklet was created to pinpoint these places - and was given out to all who attended on the tour.
If you missed out on the tour, but would like a copy of the booklet, please feel free to download the files below - and print up your own guide!

MY PERSONAL FAVE BIT OF THE SLADE DAY TOUR....
Between 1974-1974 Chas Chandler moved his office address to 49 Upper Montagu St.... I, like hundreds/thousands of fans, knew the actual address of the previous office (and Fan Club) which was at 13 South Molton Street... After Slade became enormous, Chas changed the publicised address to a "PO Box" - and moved the actual office to a secret location at 49 Upper Montagu St... I used my detective skills to find out this new address, and when I looked it up in the A-Z was amazed to find out it was about 300 steps from where I was going to school....
Hallelujah! I was one of the (very) lucky few to visit the office (sometimes 2/3 times a week). I always managed to get let in. I always got info from Chas's Secretary (Susie) - tv appearances, radio shows, flight times etc! (I was born lucky). This was especially good between '75-'76 when Slade were in the States - you could find nothing out about the band in the press - but if you called at the office you got told it all! Sometimes the band would be there too - but more often they weren't.
How cool to go back to the place yesterday for the first time in 36 years... and then when we were all standing on the doorstep, have the present owner of the property (which is now a residential house) open the front door... I thought she was going to shoo us away, but oh no, she wanted to hear what we were talking about...
Angela was the owner. She seemed quite pleased that her home was part of Slade history eh? Wasn't it really nice that she gave postcards to everyone as a souvenir of the place? What a nice lady! She had time for everyone!
I went inside and what was Chas's Reception / Back Office and Fan Club Office were all the same "style" - although the furniture had changed! What I didn't say to anyone was that Angela seems to fitness classes in the building... I could see that the back office now has coloured lino on the the floor - and I could see sets of female leggings bobbing around..... Maybe there would have been a stampede of guys into the building if I had.....
